Autotask Expands Integration with itControl Suite

No Extra Cost for State-of-the-Art Service Automation and Asset Management Capabilities to
Simplify and Streamline Workflow and Create Business Intelligence for IT and Managed Service Providers

EAST GREENBUSH, NY - Autotask Corporation today announced its hosted service management software is now fully integrated with itControl Solutions, Inc.'s appliance-based remote monitoring and management (RMM) tool, itControl Suite , creating faster and more-intuitive issue resolution and streamlined IT asset management capabilities. The partnership further extends Autotask's integrations with leading RMM companies, and provides service ticketing and asset management capabilities not previously available.

The new and improved integration is being offered as a free upgrade to all existing customers, and as a free extension for any new Autotask customers.

itControl Suite's integration with Autotask gives users more visibility into their RMM business while greatly simplifying and streamlining the workflow needed to remediate issues. Service tickets automatically generated by itControl alerts include Autotask LiveLinks, which provide one-click access to open the RMM tool for the specific device causing the alert. In addition, itControl Suite users can track all activity performed on behalf of clients in real time, and centrally manage notes and details collected for each customer and each end user. Finally, the Autotask integration allows tracking of device warranty data, which can reveal valuable intelligence on the type, age and style of the equipment owned and operated within a client location.

This integration with itControl Suite was developed using Autotask's application programming interface (API), capturing a significant amount of real time data and providing the ease of added functionality, according to Autotask CEO Bob Godgart.

"It's a true data-to-data sync between the two products without any other third-party applications required to intervene," Godgart says. "Our open API platform easily enables itControl Suite to take advantage of Autotask's premium IT service management, ticketing and data management tools. And, since itControl Suite is so closely aligned with Autotask, there's no need for our customers to waste time learning how to work within multiple systems."

For customers of both Autotask and itControl Suite, the integration simplifies and streamlines several critical service management functions:

* Faster remediation with one-click device access - When an itControl Suite alert is issued Autotask automatically creates a service ticket including a LiveLink that provides one-click access to the device and specific event details for faster remediation.

* Round-trip ticket/Alert closure - Upon completion of the ticket, the alert is automatically closed and notations about the services provisioned are captured within Autotask's database. This eliminates a current need in most systems to manually track service activity by opening and closing multiple tickets and alerts.

* Customer inventory asset management - As new equipment is installed at a customer site and added to itControl Suite for monitoring, the new assets are automatically added to, and tracked within, Autotask by system type, serial number, warranty detail, age, and even the item's UPC. As a result, service providers gain deeper business intelligence about their end-user systems and IT assets are more easily identified for service, as well as reconciled and calculated for asset-based billing.

* Warranty data tracking - Warranty data tracking saves research time when a system encounters a problem and gives IT service providers the power to proactively track warranty renewals and generate incremental revenue through new product sales, renewals and upgrades.

* itControl Suite data backup management - Client data backup is more easily monitored and managed within itControl Suite. Service tickets automatically generated by Autotask give IT service providers instant access to the details concerning backup success or failure and provide direct, one-click access to these devices. Backup histories are held within Autotask for future reporting and analysis.

Ted Roller, itControl Solutions' vice president of channel development for North America, also lauds the benefits of the integration for customers of both companies.

"itControl Suite and Autotask are both committed to tackling the service needs of IT and managed service providers," says Roller. "We know MSPs need to maximize their technical engineers' time and productivity. That's why we chose to integrate with Autotask for anytime, anywhere service management. Both itControl Solutions and Autotask continue to innovate ways to create higher revenue and profit for our customers. It's a perfect match."
